New Information System Improves Responsiveness

The M&P Lab has implemented a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to help reduce turnaround times by streamlining internal workflow processes.    The new job flow process is now paperless, as all client paperwork, quality assurance documents, and other job-related information is stored on-line in an electronic job folder.   This provides all laboratory personnel with quick access to complete and current information on each job.   Up-to-date status on any job can be readily obtained to communicate to clients as needed.   Many final reports are generated directly from the system, simplifying the reporting and approval process.   All final reports are now produced with secure digital signatures, enabling faster and more flexible distribution to clients.  The system is fully operational at both the Schenectady, NY and Greenville, SC locations, and continuing enhancements are being made to further reduce turnaround times.
